2020
SGW Designworks designed a sustainable packaging solution for Cradlepoint’s line of enterprise networking products.
Product Vision
The proposed packaging solution would need to be sustainably made in addition to providing an excellent unboxing experience for the user.
The packaging had to accommodate a variety of uniquely sized and shaped parts, all while imparting a premium look and feel to the user. The aesthetic also needed to align with the company’s visual brand language and consist of materials that were as high quality as Cradlepoint’s products themselves. All this had to be achieved while remaining within manufacturer constraints.
Final Outcome
SGW Designworks demonstrated to Cradlepoint the viability of this new solution through industrial design renderings and initial prototypes.
The result was a modular, pulp-based packaging solution consisting of molded, stackable boxes, all of which could be used to create multiple configurations. This meant a more intuitive, enjoyable unboxing experience for the user — without the use of plastic molded parts.
