Data Package Development
Your manufacturer needs complete, clear, un-ambiguous documents to quote and produce your product. Our product engineers are accustomed to developing complete data packages for product that include 3D CAD, 2D drawings, Gerber files, BOM's, and assembly drawings.
Manufacturer Engagement
When you work with us to develop your product, you get access to our manufacturing network. Many SGW Designworks clients use manufacturers in our network. We are also able to identfy, vet, and recommend manufacturing partners outside of our network.
Design for Manufacture and Assembly
In order to hit your COGS targets, careful consideration for manufacture-ability and assembly is required. During development, our engineers apply decades of manufacturing experience to ensure our designs are compatible with normal manufacturing processes. In the later stages of development, our team engages the manufacturer for design input, ensuring that the design is fully optimized for their specific equipment and processes.
Sourcing
Most products are made up of custom parts as well as purchased parts. We will help you decide what to make and what to buy. Our team will also identify reliable sources and help you set up purchasing relationships with long term partners.
Tooling, First-Articles Inspection
The rubber meets the road when tooling is cut. We will be your advocate during the tool-up process, and our engineering team typically is involved with inspection and approval of first-articles. It is common for our team to request slight modifications to the tool on behalf of the client.
