Our US-based team is ready to develop products that drive your business forward.
What we can do for you:
Enclosure Design
Our mechanical engineering team develops enclosures ranging from low-cost injection molded plastic assemblies to complex IP-rated assemblies that incorporate mechanisms and electronics. Our engineers are experienced with sealing design, latching, designing for durability, and integrating with electronics. Enclosures of any size are possible, from enclosures for large industrial equipment to enclosures for small IoT products.
Ruggedization
Design for durability is a specialty at SGW Designworks. Know how to design a living hinge that will last 1 million cycles? Our mechanical engineers do. Know how to design a bolt system with self-cleaning geometry? We do. Our product engineers consider materials, geometry, use-cases, and more to ensure that the product lives up to the expectation.
Design for Manufacture and Assembly
Almost everything we work on ultimately needs to be manufactured. Our mechanical engineers have depth not only in product design, but also in machine design and manufacturing. That means we are equipped to design products that easy to produce, and our engineers are accustomed to collaborating with the manufacturer to align the mechanical design to their proicesses and equipment.
FEA, FMEA
In addition to traditional mechanical engineering analysis, we use state of the art tools for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). FEA allows us to simulate how a part will behave under specific conditions. FMEA allows us to predict what sets of circumstances may lead to failues, so we can design to eliminate them.
Machine Design
We design a wide range of machines for clients. This includes bespoke manufacturing equipment, specialty machines for R&D labs, and even testing machines for our own internal use. Our mechanical engineers apply our product development process to machine design projects, ensuring a disciplined approach that prioritizes the highest-risk system elements.
Electronics Packaging
In a product design project, it is common for the electronics engineers and the mechanical engineers to have competing priorities. Our mechanical engineers take a holistic view, actively collaborating to develop the best electronics packaging solution possible within the product constraints.
